International Friendship Day is celebrated on the 30th of July, to commemorate the bond between friends, and to highlight the power of friendship on a global scale. Through friendship, we can contribute to strong and supportive communities, where people live harmoniously in stability and safety.
Family Life is pioneering a new schools and kindergarten initiative to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Friendship. In the last week of July, we are asking local schools to implement activities and games to celebrate friendship, and for students to wear something in the colour orange on a free dress day.
If your school or kindergarten is interested in getting involved, we have digital resource kits available now. Please email communityengagement@familylife.com.au for more information.
The Friendship Day initiative places emphasis on our young leaders and future generations to encompass qualities within themselves that promote a respect for diversity. Supporting children’s social and emotional wellbeing through the celebration of friendship is especially important during these unprecedented times. We at Family Life believe it is an ideal time to remind children of the importance of inclusion and care.
Happy Friendship Day 2022!
