As we are operating within COVID-safe restrictions and with reduced staff and volunteers to process donations, we advise that you call ahead to your local store to ensure that we have space to accept your donation within our store quarantine area.
Thank you so much for choosing Family Life to donate your preloved quality items. The following information will help you understand how and where you can donate. If you are unsure what is suitable a general rule of thumb is to ask yourself – “Would I give this to a friend or relative?” or “Would I pay money for this?”. Through the generosity of people like you, Family Life is able to support families, children and young people throughout the South Eastern region of Melbourne. All proceeds stay local, supporting the local community.
At the shop
Donate directly to Family Life’s Op shops anything that you can put in a bag and carry, for example clothing, shoes, bric a brac, toys, books and small furniture etc. Please only donate during shop opening hours. View our store locations.
Family Life’s pick-up service is available for larger items. Customers are more then welcome to donate smaller items of Clothing, Furniture and BricABrac through our 4 lovely shops as always. Please call our warehouse on 03 9555 2174 to arrange a pick up.
We can’t take everything
It’s hard to say “no thank you” to a donation however, we do need to refuse some items either because of legal requirements, or because the item is too big or too heavy or the item must be refused because it costs more to transport, repair or refurbish than it can be sold for in our Op Shops. If you are unsure, please call our warehouse on 03 9555 2174. Our staff will be able to discuss your items in more detail.
Items we cannot take include Baby furniture, mattresses, large or extremely heavy pieces of furniture, used carpet, and building material. Please keep this in mind when you are preparing to donate your items.
