“It’s not the language that some people are struggling with, it’s being understood” explains Family Life’s Ali Tausi during his conversation with Jane (Connect Program Coordinator, Moira).
Ali is the Team Leader of SHINE & Connect in Family Safety & Wellbeing at Family Life and he runs the Connect program in our Dandenong location.
The Connect program supports people struggling with mental health issues by linking them with mentors. It’s a free peer-support program available in the City of Greater Dandenong.
Running the Connect program has been a rewarding experience for Ali who explains, “My favourite part is being able to talk to somebody in their own language and managing to help them and support them in a way that they feel heard.”
