Celebrating Book Week: Read, Grow, Inspire!

By Zoe Hopper September 12, 2023

On Tuesday, August 22, Family Life’s Early Help team hosted a Book Week morning at the Westall Community Hub. Families came together for a morning filled with stories and rhymes that explored different  cultures. There was also an interactive Parent Child Mother Goose session, where families  bonded through stories and songs.

As is tradition each Book Week, children and parents wore costumes of their cherished book characters, adding a touch of funto the festivities.

Our guests from Our Place Westall took us on a journey worldwide, sharing multilingual nursery rhymes and tales that honoured diverse cultures.

At the end of the event, each child received a new book, generously provided by 123 Read to Me. Our devoted volunteers had lovingly wrapped these books, ensuring a treasured reading experience for every child.

Together, we embraced the power of early literacy through shared reading, singing, play, and rhymes. Irrespective of language or culture, this event united families in a collective love for learning and storytelling.
