Young Leaders For Change

Young Leaders for Change connects passionate young people who want to make a difference. Together, participants will learn how to tackle real issues, create lasting solutions, and share their stories.
Inspired by the Daredevils of Kolkata, this program puts the power of change in the hands of young leaders. Through weekly lessons, participants will learn to view their community in new ways, identify challenges and opportunities, and create solutions that can work locally.
Participants can expect to:
- Map their community: uncovering its treasures and exploring the challenges it faces
- Work together with their school or community leaders to develop solutions and make a positive difference
- Share their stories with others
Aimed at young people, the program collaborates with local schools and community organisations. Family Life’s Young Leaders program is for schools and community groups that:
- Work with young people
- Aim to empower young people

How We Help
The program helps young people understand that their ideas and opinions matter. Those who participate will benefit in several ways, including:
- Being empowered to make a difference
- Developing and implementing a change making project
- Engaging, connecting and learning from others
- Becoming advocates for issues that matter to them
Providing young people with a pathway to action can help them learn new things and set them up for a successful future.
Map Your World Redesign by the PAFG
Members of the Peninsula Autism Friendship Group (PAFG) worked with Young Leaders for Change facilitators to redesign a curriculum and digital platform to empower young people to have a positive impact in their local communities as they connect nationally and globally with a worldwide movement of next generation changemakers and leaders.
The group wanted to create something to help their school communities better understand what it is like to live with autism.
