Family Life's Submission to the Second Action Plan Consultation

Family Life is proud to release our submission to the Second Action Plan under the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children.

This document outlines our belief that safety requires an all-of-family, all-of-community approach. One that keeps women and children at the centre, while strengthening pathways for accountability, recovery and change.

We are calling for a system that moves beyond crisis response and invests in earlier intervention, connected services and stronger community supports.

Our key recommendations include:

  • Adopting an all-of-family, all-of-community model of safety
  • Funding accessible, evidence-informed, long-term pathways for people using violence
  • Centering children as victim-survivors in their own right
  • Investing in father-focused interventions
  • Strengthening community-based prevention and early intervention
  • Building integrated practice models
  • Building workforce capability to work safely with complexity
  • Developing national outcomes measures

Effective solutions require systems, services and communities working together to support safety and accountability to create lasting change for families.
