Happy Birthday Highett: 10 Yrs of Treasures, Community & Giving Back

Last Wednesday, Family Life proudly celebrated the 10th birthday of our Highett Community Op Shop- a decade of service, support, and connection within the local community. The event brought together past and present volunteers, staff, and friends of Family Life, all coming together to reflect on the shop’s journey and the impact it has made since opening its doors in 2014.

The celebration was a joyful occasion, filled with heartfelt conversations, laughter, and plenty of memories. We were honoured to be joined by special guests including representatives from the Sandringham Lions Club, Cr Georgia Erevnidis, and community supporters from CWA Hampton and entertainers Mon.and.B, whose contributions helped make the day extra special.

More than just a place to shop, our Highett Op Shop, like all of Family Life’s 12 community stores, is a vibrant hub where locals come together, support one another, and create meaningful connections. The event served as a beautiful reminder of the community spirit that underpins everything we do at Family Life.

As we marked this milestone during National Volunteer Week, we also took the opportunity to acknowledge and thank our incredible volunteers, past and present, whose dedication has made this milestone possible.
