Frankston City Council Grant Provides Vital Relief for Families Facing Financial Hardship

Family Life is proud to acknowledge the support of Frankston City Council for a $5,000 contribution from the Local Support Package funding round, helping deliver immediate financial relief to Frankston residents experiencing significant financial distress. The funding was provided to support Family Life’s Financial Counselling service, which assists people facing complex challenges including family violence, social isolation, financial hardship and barriers to accessing support.

The grant enabled Family Life’s financial counsellors to provide practical brokerage support, including food and fuel vouchers, helping people meet urgent everyday needs while working towards longer-term financial stability. The funding agreement anticipated support for clients experiencing cost-of-living pressures.

Many of those supported were victim survivors of family violence experiencing extreme financial hardship, often caring for multiple children and receiving little or no child support. In many cases, food and fuel vouchers helped families free up limited household income to maintain rent payments and other essential expenses.

The impact of this support extended beyond financial assistance. Clients frequently expressed deep gratitude for the help received during a difficult period in their lives. One participant shared, “I am so grateful for everything you have done and for the positive difference you have made for me and my family.”

Family Life thanks Frankston City Council for investing in the wellbeing of local residents and helping ensure people experiencing hardship can access timely, compassionate and practical support when they need it most.
