Celebrating our Volunteers: National Volunteer Week Lunch 2025

As part of National Volunteer Week 2025, Family Life proudly hosted our annual Volunteer Luncheon, honouring the incredible individuals who generously give their time, energy, and heart to support our organisation. This year’s celebration recognised the contributions of more than 300 active volunteers, whose dedication continues to make a profound impact across our programs and services.

This year’s National Volunteer Week theme, “Connecting Communities,” highlights the vital role volunteers play in bringing people together and fostering a sense of belonging. Volunteering not only creates lasting relationships but also strengthens the fabric of our society through shared purpose and compassion. 

The luncheon was a joyful and heartfelt tribute to our volunteers. Attendees enjoyed a day filled with meaningful conversations, delicious food, and lively entertainment, all in celebration of the spirit of volunteerism. We also celebrated significant volunteering milestones, congratulating those who have dedicated from 1 year to over 25 years of service to Family Life- a remarkable testament to their long-standing commitment and the lasting impact they’ve made in our community.

We were thrilled to have entertainment provided by Will, who brought energy and fun to the celebration, while Molly Burmeister Photography beautifully captured the moments of the day through her photography. A special thanks also goes to Blaze Your Trail and Mondelez International, whose generous donation of raffle prizes added an extra layer of excitement to the festivities.

Family Life volunteers bring so much to our organisation. They are more than just friendly faces at the register – our volunteers often serve as vital connectors, bridging the gap between community members in need of support and the sense of belonging fostered through our Community Stores. Their work not only helps individuals and families in need, but also strengthens the fabric of our entire community.
