Friendship Day Resources

Friendship Day is celebrated to commemorate the bond between friends, and to highlight the power of friendship on a global scale. This movement places emphasis on our young leaders and future generations to encompass qualities within themselves that promote a respect for diversity.

Supporting children’s social and emotional wellbeing through celebration of friendship is important during these unprecedented times. We at Family Life believe it is an ideal time to remind students of the importance of inclusion and care.

The United Nations International Day of Friendship is on Wednesday July 30th 2025. We suggest that your school or kindergarten celebrates ‘Friendship Day’ on a school day within the week of Monday 28th July – Friday 1st August 2025. This date is flexible to fit into your curriculum and scheduling. See below for toolkits and digital resources to help run Friendship Day in your school or kindergarten.
