Community Together Grants
Community Together offers two funding opportunities to strengthen wellbeing, inclusion and neighbourhood connection within the Community Together Neighbourhood Zone. Residents, families, support workers and community groups within the Neighbouhood Zone of Hampton East, Highett and surrounds, can access funding to reduce barriers, build community participation and create stronger local connections.
Funding Streams
Funding Stream 1: Community Together Inclusion and Support Fund
Provides flexible funding to support children, young people and families experiencing barriers to participation, inclusion and wellbeing.
- Funding available: x individuals and/or families to be funded per year.
- Up to $1,000 per individual per year and up to $2,000 per family per year.
- Applications must be submitted by a support worker or case worker on behalf of the family.
Priority is given to families with dependent children experiencing financial hardship, social isolation and/or barriers to participation.

Who can apply for this fund?
Applications must be submitted by a support worker, case worker, school support or another professional supporting an eligible individual or family.
What can the funding be used for?
Funding can help remove barriers to participation, inclusion and wellbeing. This may include costs associated with education, recreation, social connection, transport, equipment, camps, programs or other approved supports.
How much funding is available?
Eligible applicants can receive up to $1,000 per individual per year or $2,000 per family per year, subject to assessment and available funding.
Can families apply directly?
No. Applications need to be submitted by a professional who is working with and supporting the individual or family.
How will I know if my application is successful?
The applicant (support worker or referring professional) will be contacted once the application has been assessed and a funding decision has been made.
Funding Stream 2: Community Together Neighbourhood Connection Fund
Provides funding for resident-led activities that bring neighbours together, strengthen social connections, encourage participation and foster belonging.
- Funding available: x projects to be funded per year. Up to $1,000 per project.
- Eligible activities may include community BBQs, street meets, cultural celebrations, playgroups, community gardens, social groups, markets and skill-sharing workshops.
- Projects should be open to the community and clearly support inclusion and neighbour connection.
