Community Together

Community Together is a long-term, place-based initiative that brings residents, community groups, businesses, services and government together to strengthen community connection, support children and families earlier, and create lasting change through collective action.

Together, we’re creating a Hampton East community where people feel connected, supported and able to contribute, and where children and families can thrive.

Why Community Together?

Children and families thrive when they are surrounded by people who know them, care about them and are willing to lend a hand. Strong relationships, a sense of belonging and opportunities to contribute all help create communities where people feel supported through life’s challenges.

Community Together isn’t about creating something new. It’s about unlocking and connecting the strengths, knowledge and care that already exist within our neighbourhood.

Family Life has been part of this community for more than 50 years. We know there is already a wealth of local assets, skills and community spirit here. Community Together builds on these strengths, creating opportunities for people, organisations and services to work alongside one another to make our community an even better place for children and families.

How Community Together works

Listen

Listen to residents and people with lived experience to understand local strengths, needs and aspirations.

Connect

Bring residents, organisations, schools, businesses and government together around shared priorities.

Act Together

Turn ideas into action through working groups, partnerships and community-led projects.

What we're working towards

Connected and welcoming neighbourhoods

Children and families who feel safe, supported and connected

Stronger local leadership and community participation

Services and systems that respond to local priorities

Earlier support and fewer families reaching crisis point

Our Vision

Together, we’re building a community-led support network that strengthens local confidence and supports meaningful change.

Community-led action in progress

Community Together is already bringing people together around a shared vision for children and families. Through our inaugural Community Summit in 2025, residents, organisations, businesses, schools and government representatives came together to identify local priorities and begin developing community-led solutions. Dedicated working groups are now progressing action across children and families, community connection and systems change.
