The Opportunity

As our People Services Manager, you’ll lead a small, dedicated team to deliver the full spectrum of people services across our dynamic operations in retail and client services. We’re looking for someone as versatile and adaptable as Family Life itself – comfortable navigating both the fast-paced retail environment and the nuanced world of client services. You’ll be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, a mentor to your team, and a champion of our values-driven, inclusive culture.  This is more than an HR role, it’s an opportunity to shape the future of a purpose-led organisation and empower our people to perform at their best, drive impact, and achieve exceptional outcomes for our clients and customers.

Reporting to the CFO you will:

  • Strategy – Lead the development of a Retail and Services Staff people strategy which acknowledges the difference between client services and commercial requirements.
  • Systems – Leading the implementation of a new HRIS and modernising HR operations
  • Performance Management – implement new performance management approaches that drive a high performance team across Retail and Services
  • Leaderships – Leading and mentoring a high-performing People Services team
  • Recruitment – Drive a recruitment and onboarding approach that attracts and retains high quality staff.
  • Industrial Relations – Managing employee relations and ensuring compliance with employment legislation

The skills your will bring: 

  • Proven experience in a senior HR generalist role
  • Experience in Retail and SCHADS awards highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and industrial relations
  • A collaborative leadership style and a passion for developing others
  • Strategic thinking with hands-on operational capability
  • A genuine commitment to equity, inclusion, and social impact
