The Opportunity

Our Court Mandated Counselling Order’s program, known as Support4Change is a program that provides Specialist Family Violence responses, that utilise strength-based and trauma-informed approaches to support interventions with Adults Using Family Violence (AUFV).

The service is delivered through online and centre-based group and individual sessions, at our Frankston and Sandringham sites, and other sites where required (Moorabbin, Ringwood and Dandenong), and remotely.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Conduct professional intake and assessment for adults who have used family violence.
  • Co-facilitating of group work with adults using family violence that have been court mandated to complete the program, including after-hours group facilitation.
  • Providing individual counselling and case coordination services to adults who have used family violence and their families.
  • Conducting on-going risk assessments and developing safety plans to mitigate risk and ensure safety.
  • Ensuring that the needs and safety of the families take priority at all times.
  • Delivering services to quality standards, complying with relevant legislation and contractual requirements.
  • Maintaining professional documentation and administrative systems according to program and legislative requirements, including planning and documentation of group and education programs.
  • Attending regular reflective practice groups, which explores the role privilege plays with particular reference to sexism across the Family Violence and Family Services sector.
  • Other duties as directed by the Team Leader or Program Manager, Men’s Support Services.

You are Bachelor qualified in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Family Therapy or a related field and have significant experience co-facilitating Men’s Behaviour Change Programs. You have a sound knowledge of the complexities of family violence and working with Adults Using Family Violence (AUFV) and have the proven ability to coordinate and oversee a case-load of AUFV.
