The Opportunity

The Clearance Store Manager is a Full Time, Permanent role based at Family Life Clearance Store and leads the operations of a large-format clearance retail space, managing high volumes of clothing, books, furniture and homewares. You will oversee stock flow, guide staff and volunteers, and create an organised, customer‑focused environment aligned with Family Life’s values.

Step into a role where every day is fast paced, hands-on and genuinely rewarding!

As our Clearance Store Manager, you’ll be at the heart of a bustling retail environment, leading daily operations, keeping stock flowing smoothly, and shaping a store layout that feels functional, safe and inviting. You’ll bring energy and purpose to the floor, championing excellent customer service and creating a space where shoppers feel welcome and supported.

You’ll also get to flex your leadership skills by guiding an amazing mix of staff and volunteers, all while driving stock levels, coordinating exciting promotions and sale events, and keeping clearance targets on track. If you love rolling up your sleeves, collaborating with passionate retail and volunteer teams, and confidently managing everything from OHS compliance to cash handling, this is your chance to shine in a role that never stops giving back – to you, the team, and the community.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate brings opportunity shop or clearance‑style retail experience and feels confident stepping into a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. You communicate clearly, lead with heart, and create a supportive, energising space for both staff and volunteers. You understand the rhythm of retail, you’re proactive when challenges arise, and you know how to motivate and guide a team so everyone feels valued and set up for success.

This role requires someone who is energetic and able to meet the physical demands that come with managing furniture, homewares and high stock turnover in a large format clearance store.

You are also highly organised, tech‑savvy, and ready to hit the ground running when it comes to the operational side of the role. Whether you’re navigating Microsoft Office, managing POS or CRM systems, or streamlining processes to keep the store running smoothly, you bring a calm, capable approach. If you thrive in roles where every day brings variety, connection, purpose and hands‑on impact — you’re exactly who we’re excited to meet!
