Tootgarook Services – Update

Over the past seven years Family Life’s Tootgarook House has provided a safe and relaxed place for local people to make, maintain and grow community networks, friendships and a sense of belonging.

It has been a shared place for mums, dads, grandparents and carers to make friends, join playgroups and develop skills. Local partners have also delivered a range of services and programs.

However, after careful consideration and as a result of increasing operational and maintenance costs and reduced funding, Family Life has made the hard decision to sell Tootgarook Community House.

Family Life teams have enjoyed providing programs and services with many partners and residents involved. The Tootgarook community has come together and strengthened over that time and we have been privileged to contribute.

Services will continue to run at the house until the end of the year and we will advise when an affordable re-location is secured. Please see below contact details for each of the programs currently running from ‘the house’ should you require further information:

  • Tootgarook Little Hands Playgroup – This group will continue to run from Tootgarook House until the end of the year. Contact Aly Madden 9784 0600.
  • YMCA Social Group – This group will continue to run from Tootgarook House until the end of the year. Contact Jeanette Horsley 0448 916 724.
  • Mother Goose/Jive Jiggle Jump – On hold for Term 4. Contact Aly Madden 9784 0600.
  • SmallTalk Playgroup – Running from Vern Wright Reserve, 20 Eliza Street, Capel Sound. Contact Kerry Fortuyn or Anya Merrill 5950 1632.
