On Wednesday 3 February, HMAS Cerberus hosted their annual Family Open Day, where Navy families get an opportunity to mingle and meet organisations and support networks in their new local community.
Two Family Life staff members, Rosie and Zoe, attended representing Family Life. Other community groups included ADF Health, Australian Military Bank, Defence Bank, Cerberus Cottage and Soldier On. There was food and children’s entertainment available also.
The purpose of attending the event was to showcase all the services and programs on offer within Family Life that Cerberus families could access if needed.
During the event, staff were fortunate to meet the Cerberus families consisting of Navy personnel, spouses and children who attended local schools.
“It was a great way to disseminate information and network with this self-contained and self sufficient transient community,” Rosie said.
“Zoe and I had a great time connecting with the families.”
Thanks for representing us Rosie and Zoe!
