The Opportunity

The Family Connections Team Leader is a Full Time, Permanent role based at Frankston and provides leadership of the Family Connections program ensuring best practice in responding to clients and vulnerable children and also delivering quality standard service responsibilities, while complying with relevant legislation and achieving contract requirements.

The Family Connections Team Leader leads a high performing team of staff, students and volunteers to deliver Children’s Contact Services and the Parenting Orders Program. They ensure collaboration, effective teamwork and high-quality practice are adhered to. They encourage innovation in program development in response to community needs in collaboration with the Practice Leader – Family Engagement.

The Family Connections Team Leader oversees the delivery of intake and assessment, and of case allocation systems to meet required performance and outcome criteria. The Family Connections Team Leader manages the waitlist and client appointments. They also oversee case planning, monitoring and review process. The Team Leader ensures the completion and submission of Children’s Contact Service Court Reports and affidavits as required. The Team Leader liaises with legal and other professionals as needed. They have the opportunity to represent the agency in appropriate service networking and service development forums.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate would be committed to meeting the needs of at-risk families, children and youth, guided by the agency whole of family approach and community-based model of service delivery. They would have knowledge of the Family Law Act (1975), family violence, trauma, mental health, AOD and abuse issues. They would support the therapeutic needs of children who have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect and demonstrate commitment to child-focused and child-inclusive practice. Our candidate would also have experience in providing professional supervision, training and performance management for practitioners. They would have excellent skills in written, oral and interpersonal communication. The candidate would and hold a Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or similar Human Services qualifications and be eligible for membership of an appropriate professional association.
