The Opportunity
The Distribution Warehouse Manager is a full Time, permanent role based in Moorabbin and involves leading a team of volunteers in receiving and sorting donated stock and providing merchandising support to the opportunity shops. To excel in this role, you will need a passion for Retail and enjoy working with a diverse group of people to achieve great social outcomes.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Distribution Centre including overseeing stock control, identifying and addressing inaccuracies / discrepancies in stock management and data
- Lead a team of Volunteers that supports Family Life to receive, sort and distribute donated goods.
- Manage rostering and workforce planning to effectively use warehouse and Volunteer resources are utilised within the assigned budget.
- Actively work with the Volunteer Management team, to ensure cooperative working relationships with volunteers through ongoing coaching, communication and early intervention on people related issues.
- Lead a team of Volunteer drivers and jockeys and plan their routes ensuring pickups and drop offs are logistically and financially viable.
- Setup the Warehouse layout and ensure efficient space utilisation
- Maintain the Distribution Centre in a clean, efficient, organised and safe space ensuring all OHS requirements are in place
- Assist the Store Managers with the movement and rotation of stock to different sites.
- Assist with set up of new stores and events
- Oversee stock control, identifying and addressing inaccuracies / discrepancies in stock management and data.
- Coordinate monthly clearance sale
- Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service
- Report on Monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Monitor and maintain company vehicles to an acceptable standard.
