Overview

Lifeways is a low cost counselling and mediation service accredited under the Family Law Act for individuals, couples, families, young people and children who are concerned about their relationships.

You may like to speak to a Lifeways Counsellor if you:

• want to enjoy/improve/enhance your relationships
• are having difficulties in your partner relationship (eg arguments, sexual differences, affairs)
• have difficulties in other relationships including work, friendships and extended family
• want to come to terms with loss or grief
• are thinking of separating
• want to improve your parenting
• are needing mediation between separated couples(without children>
• want help with family relationships after separating (counselling, group therapy, mediation and education where children are involved)
• are experiencing family conflict
• are experiencing difficulties with a blended family situation
• are experiencing major changes in your life (redundancy, retirement)
• are experiencing violence in the family
• need help with parenting issues

Counsellors' Qualifications

All Lifeways counselling staff have tertiary qualifications with many having post graduate qualifications. All staff are supervised and undertake ongoing training and professional development.
Lifeways, as a division of Family Life is approved by the Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services (FaCS) to provide counselling services under the Family Relationship Services Program (FRSP).
The FRSP is jointly funded by FaCs and the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department.
Family Life, including Lifeways is an approved Mediation Organisation under the Family Law Act 1975. (Australian Government – Department of Family and Community Services)

Session Focus

Counsellors sessions concentrate on the individual's strengths and areas that they would like to address.

Sessions Times

Counselling sessions last 50 minutes. Offices are open during business hours, with some evening sessions available.

The cost of Lifeways counselling services is subsidised by generous members of our local community.

Costs

There is a set charge of $50 per session, payable at the time of the appointment.
Cash and credit cards (Bankcard, Mastercard and Visa) are accepted.
Lifeways is a community sponsored low cost counselling service and fees are set to assist with meeting costs.
