"The context that restores community is one of possibility, generosity, and gifts, rather than one of problem solving, fear and retribution." - Peter Block, Community: The Structure of Belonging. |
Developed in 1998, Creating Capable Communities (CCC) is a program which amis to do just this, operating in high-need neighbourhoods in which Family Life operates.
Through the use of interwoven strategies involving support groups, one-on-one caring and community involvement, it enables vulnerable people to become able as they develop skills, friendships, a sense of belonging, civic and social responsibility, self belief and a vision for what they can achieve.
Family Life has developed a "CCC Toolkit" which can provide you with the basics of what the program involves.
