About the Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join Family Life and be part of the Family Relationship Services team. This position focuses on the Early Intervention Service funded under the Australian Government Family Relationships Services Program for the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula.  You will be rewarded by seeing young people and families experience growth and change and will utilise your passion to make a difference in providing a safe and stable environment for these families. You will find your role as Relationship Education Worker a rewarding one where you will facilitate and evaluate the Family Relationship Education Program as well being involved in developing and implementing new programs for the community.  Family Life invests generously in the development of staff to achieve career objectives.

To be successful in this role you will need a tertiary qualification in Social Services and/or group work. You will have experience in designing, facilitating and evaluating educational groups. You will have excellent facilitation and communication skills to conduct and develop courses together with a knowledge of current theories and practices in individual, family and child relationship education. You will find your role as team leader a rewarding one where you will ensure the provision of professional intake, assessment and Early Intervention Services for individuals and families, supervise a team of employed and volunteer staff and ensure services are delivered to quality standards, comply with relevant legislation and achieve contract requirements.  Family Life invests generously in the development of staff to achieve career objectives.

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will need a tertiary qualification in Social Work or psychology or equivalent tertiary human services qualification and a good understanding of separation, Family Law, and domestic violence issues.  You will have experience in leading and developing a small team of staff involved in their performance development in the areas of social work, psychology, family therapy and counseling.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Family Life and be part of the Family Services team, providing a range of services for men, women and their families including groupwork, behavioural change, counselling (centre-based and some outreach), and community education.

You will have good working knowledge of systems, family, and family violence theories and research.
