Separated Parents
Are you recently separated/divorced with children?
Need more information and practical advice about parenting, finances and minimising the effects of separation and divorce on children?
A support group is available for separated parents. The group offers an opportunity for separated parents to meet with other people who are in a similar situation, for companionship and the opportunity to discuss issues relating to parenting, the effects of separation and to develop strategies for moving forward in a positive manner.
Comment from a father of two young children who attended the support group:
"When you separate, you need to know the practical side and emotional side of separation. The support group provided me with information about the practical side, such as about the Family Court and I learned about other resources, such as ParentLink. The group also helped with the emotional side. I met people in similar situations, formed new friendships and felt less isolated and the group also helped with leaving behind the old life and forging a new life. The support group has assisted me in learning from the experience."
